Can I use my OSHC for allied health appointments in Australia?
Yes you can. Depending on your cover, there's two ways which you might be able to access allied health such as dietetics, chiropractic and psychology:

How much does my OSHC cover for allied health visits?
Generally OSHC will cover the same as Medicare rebates. This is likely written as 85% of the MBS fee. For example, for 2025-26 85% of the MBS fee is $61.80 under the GP Chronic Condition Management Plan.
It's best to check your policy for information specific to your individual coverage.
How do I claim OSHC rebates for allied health visits?
Easily! After your appointment, you'll pay the consultation fee. You'll receive a receipt which will have the item number, provider number and the details that you require to make your claim along with your GP referral. You'll submit this receipt and receive your refund back to your bank account.

Do I need a GP referral to use my OSHC for allied health?
You'll need to speak with your GP to get a Medicare referral before you will be covered. Even though you don't have a Medicare card, your OSHC rebate Medicare item numbers - and these require a Medicare referral from your GP.

How much does my OSHC Extras Cover for allied health visits?
This will depend on your policy but it'll typically cover a set amount. For example, Allianz Care will cover $35 for the initial consultation and $15-25 for subsequent consultations up to $350 per year for chiropractic care.
