Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese medicine is among the most ancient and revered forms of medicine worldwide. At over 5,000 years old, it encompasses a wide scope of modalities including Chinese herbal medicine, cupping, dietary and nutrition advice, plus energetic healing exercises such as Tai Chi and Qi Gong.

Although very old, Chinese medicine remains a powerful tool in modern medicine. It is widely renowned for its effectiveness and has been listed by the World Health Organisation, as a proven effective method in the treatment of several health disorders.

One of the biggest benefits of Chinese medicine is that it is effective with little to no side effects, as it encourages the body’s own innate restorative capacities for healing. Although this may seem magical it is actually very practical, with great results for clients time and again.

Sheena Vaughan, our Senior Chinese Medicine doctor , has helped hundreds of clients achieve health and wellness during her decade of practice. Dr Sheena can help you with a range of health concerns. Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the best known and most widely utilised aspects of Chinese medicine. If you are new to acupuncture then you are in good hands at the Body and Brain Centre, we love to take new clients through the whole process step by step.

Acupuncture is far from a painful experience, the emphasis is actually on relaxation as you unwind during your treatment under warm, fluffy towels. Once you have tried acupuncture you will love how relaxed and centred you feel after your session, as if you just awoke from a deep sleep.

Every acupuncture session is performed by a qualified Chinese medicine doctor, who has undergone over four years full time training in health sciences. Acupuncture is extremely low risk and very well regulated in Australia, with all Doctors needing to comply with the strict guidelines of the Australian Health Practices Regulation Agency.

If you have questions about acupuncture our doctors are always on hand for a chat one to one or over the phone.
